ONEBODY INNOVATION

The discipline of defense programs, the price of a small consultancy

OneBody Innovation is a Scottsboro, AL consultancy founded by Corey Payne, bringing a background in defense, cybersecurity, and program management to small-business operations. The premise: modern AI development tools let one experienced operator deliver what used to require a consulting team — so businesses with 5 to 100 employees can finally afford the systems discipline big organizations take for granted.

Why “OneBody”?

A business should work like one body — sales, operations, and accounting moving as one organism instead of passing paper between strangers. Most small businesses run as disconnected parts. Connecting them, carefully, is the whole practice.

Who you’ll be working with

Corey Payne, founder of OneBody InnovationSBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business

Corey Payne spent fourteen years in Department of Defense information technology, cybersecurity, and systems engineering — a U.S. Air Force veteran whose service included work at U.S. Strategic Command.

The short version of that career: he kept secure communications running between the President, the Secretary of Defense, and U.S. Strategic Command through 90-plus global missions, stood up a defensive cyber operations team protecting reconnaissance aircraft networks, led blue-team security assessments across four Air Force bases, and moved a headquarters staff onto the Microsoft 365 cloud — the same platform most small businesses already run on. Different scale, same job: find what’s fragile, fix it without breaking anyone’s work day, and write it down.

He holds an MBA in IT Management and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. Today that experience goes into Scottsboro, Jackson County, and North Alabama businesses: the same evidence-first assessments, written rollback plans, and documentation discipline — scaled to a machine shop instead of a program office.

OneBody Innovation is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB).

Why Scottsboro?

Corey grew up in Dalton, Georgia, and joined the Air Force at eighteen. Jackson County was always part of the map: his grandfather pastored a church in Scottsboro in the early 1990s, and family has been here since. After fourteen years of defense work he came home to the area — to Scottsboro, where he got married and started OneBody.

The county is drawing real technology investment — Google announced a $1.5 billion expansion of its Bridgeport data center in June 2026, and Jackson County’s economic developers now recruit data and technology employers by name. OneBody’s part is closer to the ground: making sure the machine shops, offices, and trades that already run this county get that kind of capability too.
