You can't hire your way out of the office backlog

OneBody automates the office work that eats contractor margins — certified payroll, job costing, RFI and change-order tracking — and protects progress payments from wire fraud. Built for North Alabama GCs, subs, and homebuilders. Fixed fees against a written scope.

Office roles are now as hard to fill as field crews

The 2025 AGC/NCCER Workforce Survey found 83% of firms employing craft workers had open positions and 83% of those said the jobs are hard to fill — and the shortage has moved indoors: 77% report estimating personnel hard to find, 76% say the same of project managers. Contractors see the way out: 45% expect AI and robotics to help by automating error-prone tasks, and only 12% expect a negative impact.

Fourteen hours a week, gone

A 2018 FMI study measured construction professionals losing about 14 hours every week to non-optimal work: 5.5 hours hunting for project data, 4.7 on conflict resolution, 3.9 redoing mistakes. The same research pinned 48% of all US rework on poor data and miscommunication — roughly $31.3 billion a year. The fix isn’t heroics; it’s one place where RFIs, submittals, and change orders live and update themselves.

The quieter killer is profit fade — jobs that book at one margin and close at a worse one. Surety underwriters treat recurring fade on the WIP schedule as a red flag that erodes bond capacity. Real-time job costing catches it while the job can still be steered.

The paperwork with felony exposure

On covered government jobs, the Department of Labor’s own estimate is 55 minutes per weekly WH-347 certified payroll per contract — and falsifying one is prosecutable under 18 U.S.C. 1001, punishable by up to five years. Hand-typing them every Friday is time you don’t have and risk you don’t need: generate them from time records, then review and sign.

Frequently asked questions

We're not big enough to need “systems.”

If you could hire an estimator tomorrow, maybe. In the 2025 AGC/NCCER survey, 77% of firms said estimating personnel are hard to find and 76% said the same about project managers. Automating the workflows those roles drown in is the realistic alternative to a hire you can't make.

A sub emailed new bank details for their payment. Is that normal?

Treat it as an attack until proven otherwise. Changed-payment-detail emails are the classic business-email-compromise play, and the FBI logged $3.04 billion in BEC losses in 2025. Verify by phone at a number you already had — never one from the email. We build that verification step into your payment workflow so it happens every time.

Do you handle Davis-Bacon certified payroll?

We automate the production: WH-347 forms generated from your time records instead of hand-typed. You review and sign — the certification is always yours. We prepare; you sign.

We do work on Redstone / federal jobs. Does CMMC apply to us?

If your contracts carry DFARS clauses, yes — and that's a dedicated engagement with its own rules. Start at our Cybersecurity & CMMC page.
